TAR Airlines has the following provisions for pregnant passengers.
There is the possibility of requesting a wheelchair at the airport for pregnant passengers convenience.
It is important to note in what stage of pregnancy the passenger is. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) medical manual recommends that pregnant women do not fly after the 36th week of pregnancy, in normal conditions; 32 weeks, if it is an uncomplicated twin pregnancy.
Civil Aeronautics air regulations say women who are pregnant "should not travel by air if the gestation period is more than seven (7) months, unless the journey is absolutely necessary. In any case, they must sign a document endorsed with medical certification about their fitness to travel removing the responsibility of the company for any eventuality occurred from their status during the flight". Such document shall be issued with a maximum of 3 days in advance and their validity will have to cover the length of the trip.
As a precaution, it is essential to travel with compression stockings because of thrombosis risk, not settling for more than 2 or 3 hours, and making active and passive exercises on the plane.
